Pawn by blueswan28 [Reviews - 1]
The whole situation started not more than ten years ago. I was 18. I enrolled in a prestigious university, began Donna Lake’s story. Then, she met Matthew Manchino, a smooth, suave Italian boy with all the right moves. At first life was good, marriage came and her life began, one that was full of hope. She had everything; a good-looking husband, a beautiful home, and her school—then it all changed. Drugs, arms dealing—they all became part of life and life wasn’t as wonderful as Donna thought it would be. Each day went by, and each day was worse than the next. What was she to do? One day, she woke up and her whole world fell apart—she was dead on paper, but now she had a chance to get her own revenge—through the FBI. Yet, the FBI has its own twists and turns, moles and other insiders, and Donna becomes their player. Who does Donna believe? Is there anyone she can trust? Pawn: A Novel is a book about love, lies, deception and a woman’s need to survive. It’s Donna’s tale—her life.

Collection by blueswan28 [Reviews - 2]
"Collection" boasts stories of the unimaginable - a set of stories found in an attic, mysteriously left behind by some unknown being. Each story brings you in an everyday life with an unforseen occurance. What lessons will you learn by a vampire? a house that has a ghostly past? a business that is failing and a ex-employee that comes back for his piece of the pie? "Collection" is just that - a collection of various horrors, and unimaginables; things that may appear in your everyday life and you wouldn't even know it!

Moral Vengeance by rhaberer [Reviews - 1]
"Where he came from, hatred was a family business." - The opening line to a novel I've written about a war triggered by a terrorist nuclear attack. Does the U.S. respond with nuclear weapons, or can a moral vengeance be found? My name is Rod Haberer, and I've just recently published a POD novel titled, MORAL VENGEANCE. It's a technothriller I've written without all the long-winded poltical preaching so common in this genre. Believe it or not, I started work on it long before 9/11, but the book was adapted to reflect a new world reality. Most of the opening chapter is included here - let me know what your think - does it hook you? Do you want to read more? E-mail honest responses to akula1@cox.net...thanks.

The Eider Files, the search for a new breed of bioterrorism weapon by dougmh [Reviews - 0]
This is chapter 1 of my novel. Dr. Steven Finder, a down-on-his-luck scientist, is caught in a web of intrigue, hired by a mysterious man named Standek to find documents that make up the Eider Files. These files contain information on new biological warfare agents more deadly than Anthrax or other bio-agents; they describe a unique delivery system using small flying robotic insects. Foreign terrorist groups, Chinese and Moroccan, both after the files, confront Finder. He must also locate and stop a rogue Army Colonel who has stolen the bio-agent cultures and developed a clandestine underground lab for their production. The saga comes to a climax when all parties meet in a field near an old, dilapidated red barn in the Maryland countryside. Set in Washington, DC, The Eider Files is the intriguing adventure of an ordinary man placed in extraordinary circumstances, against criminal and terrorist elements with which he has no experience. It's an adventure where scientific know-how and plain common sense prevail during several weeks that could drastically affect the future of bio-terrorism and the world.

Dwansearlylite by ssharma [Reviews - 0]
Born to a respectable French-Canadian family, Dawn L’Andry shows promise as a student and dreams of becoming a schoolteacher. But her craving for both love and luxury cause her ultimate downfall. After leaving her home and beloved father to attend university in Montréal, she finds life on a tight budget more difficult than she had anticipated. A fellow waitress at the restaurant where she earns a few extra dollars introduces her to the head of an escort service, and Dawn is sucked into a hooker’s life. She also fulfills her dream of teaching, but her nighttime activities often distract her from her altruistic mission. Her obsession with money and fascination with the idea of sex with strangers keep her constantly on the edge. Sought after by rich and famous clients, she engages in dangerous, exploitative acts with an adeptness that always makes them want more. But an encounter with Sanjay, a wealthy, married East Indian physician, turns Dawn’s carefully arranged life upside down. Dawn’s beauty and sexual expertise leave Sanjay breathless. His infatuation with her escalates, disrupting his work and family life, until she proposes becoming his mistress, on condition that he never ask about her true identity. Sanjay lavishes her with jewelry, luxurious vacations, cash and even her own stock brokerage account. Their idyllic arrangement comes crashing down around them, however, when Dawn’s parents try to arrange a marriage for her. At first, Dawn is incensed but soon realizes that her parents’ concern for her future is justified. Terrified of her double life being exposed, she agrees to marry and breaks up with Sanjay. Though Dawn has tried not to be too hurtful, a jealous and enraged Sanjay hires a private investigator to uncover her disgraceful past. Dawn’s father learns of his daughter’s sordid hidden life and banishes her from the family. Devastated, she drives her car off a bridge. Sanjay hears of her death and tries to take his own life. In the end, both lovers survive and meet by chance in Montréal. There, after an evening of soul-searching, they achieve forgiveness and find solace in each other’s arms once more.
