What is a story rating? Ratings help you identify who the audience is for your work. Choose your ratings wisely. If your work contains profanity, it's not intended for readers of all ages.
What is a warning? Warnings help your readers know what they're in for when they read your work. Some people might be offended by strong language or graphic violence. The warnings allow readers to know exactly what your writing contains.
Do I have to put in a Chapter Title? Chapter Title is a required field so if you're submitting something that doesn't require a Chapter Title (like a blog, short story or poetry), simply hit your SPACE BAR once within this field. Think of the Chapter Title as a subtitle and use it creatively if you want or bypass it altogether by just hitting your space bar.
How can I link directly to my work? Click on "Authors" and then your member name. The Web address that appears in your browser window is your direct link and will link to your bio page. To link to a particular piece, click on the name of the piece and the Web address that appears in your browser is its direct link.
How can I add an image to my bio? You must upload your photo by clicking on My Writing and then Image Basket. After your photo has been uploaded, click on My Writing and Edit Personal Information. Only enter the file name.
Example: Your file name is photo.jpg. Only enter photo.jpg. Don't enter the entire Web address or your image won't appear.
What is the Writer of the Month Award? Every month one showcase writer will be chosen as the Writer of the Month. That writer's work will be featured on the Writers Showcase welcome page, in the Better Than Reality Newsletter for Writers and they will receive a special award graphic with their name on it.
How will my work get exposure? All work submitted is featured on the front page of FictionAddiction.NET and on the welcome page of the Writers Showcase. The site receives more than one million visitors each month, one of the highest stats of any site for writers.
Where does my donation go? FictionAddiction.NET is community-based and solely relies on donations to keep the site up and running. All donations go directly to the site's operating costs to cover bandwidth and server space expenses.
What if I don't have a credit card? PayPal allows you to use your check as an Echeck. Or you can send a personal check or money order through regular mail.
Please note: Processing time for donations sent through the mail depend solely on the postal service. The time to activate your membership will depend on the postal service's delivery time and, as soon as it's received, we will process your donation. What types of membership packages are available? You don't have to ever worry about renewing your membership because once you sign up, your membership is good for life. A lifetime membership is just $20.
How long will it take before my membership is processed? If you used PayPal or Amazon, your membership will be active within two business days. Usually, all new signups through Amazon or PayPal are processed within a few hours.
If you are sending payment through the mail, your setup time will depend on how long it takes the postal service to deliver your check or money order.
How can I cancel my membership? Your membership is good for life. However, if you wish to cancel your lifetime membership, contact MemberServices@FictionAddiction.NET. Lifetime memberships that have been cancelled will not be renewable at a later date. Your account will be cancelled permanently and all of your work removed from the site.
I lost my password. How do I get a new one? Click on Login and then the Lost Password link. A new password will be sent to the Email address you used to sign up for access to the Writers Showcase.
