The Eider Files, the search for a new breed of bioterrorism weapon by dougmh [Reviews - 0]
This is chapter 1 of my novel. Dr. Steven Finder, a down-on-his-luck scientist, is caught in a web of intrigue, hired by a mysterious man named Standek to find documents that make up the Eider Files. These files contain information on new biological warfare agents more deadly than Anthrax or other bio-agents; they describe a unique delivery system using small flying robotic insects. Foreign terrorist groups, Chinese and Moroccan, both after the files, confront Finder. He must also locate and stop a rogue Army Colonel who has stolen the bio-agent cultures and developed a clandestine underground lab for their production. The saga comes to a climax when all parties meet in a field near an old, dilapidated red barn in the Maryland countryside. Set in Washington, DC, The Eider Files is the intriguing adventure of an ordinary man placed in extraordinary circumstances, against criminal and terrorist elements with which he has no experience. It's an adventure where scientific know-how and plain common sense prevail during several weeks that could drastically affect the future of bio-terrorism and the world.
